ACTS 10:34-35
THE part II of this topic will be on the life of Moses. To start with, who is Moses? Very few chapters and verses will be visited to find out who Moses was. Exodus 2:1-10, A man of the house of Levi went and took a wife, a daughter of Levi.
2. So the woman conceived and bore a son. And she saw that he was a beautiful child. She hid him three months. 3. But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it and laid it in the reeds by the rivers bank. 4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what would be done to him. Then the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river’s side, and when she saw the ark among the reeds side, she sent her maid to get it. 6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child and behold, the baby wept. So, she had compassion on him, and said. “This is one of the Hebrew’s children then his sister said to pharaoh’s daughter, “shall I go and call a nurse for you from the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for you? 8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Go” so the maiden went and called the child’s mother. Then Pharaoh’s daughter said to her. “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages”. So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10. And the child grew, and she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. So she called his name Moses, saying. Because I drew him out of the water. Exodus 3: 1-5 reads. Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in-law, the priest of Median. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of Yahweh. 2 And the angel of Yahweh appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked and behold, the bush burned with fire, but the bush was not consumed. 3 Then Moses said ‘I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn”. 4 So when Almighty Father saw that he turned aside to look, Almighty Father called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “ Moses, Moses, And he said, “ Here I am” 5 Then He said. “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandal off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground”. That was Moses. Moses was a friend of Yahweh, Moses was too closed to his creator, Moses was a man in his creator heart. Aaron, Mirriam, both of the same parents with Moses were visited by Yahweh for they murmured against their brother Moses. Moses was so much loved by Yahweh that He trusted the children of Israelite to his care to lead them out from the land of Egypt. Moses was a great deliverer. Moses was so much closer to his creator that he once told Yahweh to blot out his name from the book of life if the children of Israelite will not be pardoned. There are many attributes to confirm Moses closeness to Almighty Father. Moses was the law giver. At times, it will sound as if Moses was given Yahweh command on what to do due to their closeness. Moses was the only prophet that speaks with Yahweh face to face as a man talking to a man like himself. Exodus 33:7-12. Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp far from the camp, and called it tabernacle of meeting. And it came to pass that everyone who sought Yahweh went out to the tabernacle of meeting which was outside the camp. So it was, whenever Moses went out to the tabernacle, that all the people rose and each man stood at his tent door and watched Moses until he had gone into the tabernacle. 9 And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and Yahweh talked with Moses. 10 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshipped, each man in his tent door”. So, Yahweh speaks to Moses face to face as a man speaks to his friend. Number 11:9-15. And when the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it. 10 Now Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, everyone at the door of his tent, anger of Yahweh was greatly aroused, Moses also was displeased. 11 So, Moses said to Yahweh, why have You afflicted Your servant? And why have I not found favour in Your sight, that You have laid the burden of all these people on me? 12 Did I conceive all these people? Did I beget them, that You should say to me carry them in your bosom as a guardian carries a nursing child, to the land which You swore to their fathers? 13 Where am I to get meat to give to all these people? For they weep all over me, saying, give us meat that we may eat. 14 I am not able to bear all these people alone, because the burden is too much for me. 15 If you treat me like this, please kill me here and now- If I found favour in your sight – and do not let me see my wretchedness”. You see what am talking about. The way he talks to his creator shows that they were very close to each other. Moses does not receive his message from Almighty Father by dreams or visions as to other prophets but face to face. The man Moses was born during the period of oppression of the Israelite in Egypt, brought up in Pharaoh’s house, fled to midian for almost 40 years, call by Yahweh by the burning bush
THE TOPIC IS: ARE YOU DISCOURAGE?
Now think about this statement in Exodus 5:20 -21
20 Now as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them.
