Nigerians, particularly married couples have been told to continue to uphold the virtues of Godly Marriage as well as the sanctity of their marital vows.

The Director General (DG), Delta State Investments Development Agency (DIDA), Olorogun Lucky Oghene- Omoru gave the charge on Friday in Ibusa, while attending the marriage ceremony of Mr. and Mrs. Emmanuel Akpanoko.

According to the DIDA Boss, the charge has become imperative as it would help in strengthening the marriage institution as well as instate better and egalitarian society.

While noting that lack of respect to marital vows by couples has been one of the principal causes of the growing rate of divorce and disunity in homes, Oghene-Omoru enjoined the new couple to strive to sustain their union by upholding the sanctity of their vows to each other.

He also enjoined them to eschew the tendencies of allowing third party interference into their homes just as he reminded them to always pray together, share views together as well as respect each other’s opinion.

On his part, the father of the bride and Director of Administration, DIDA, Mr.IkechukwuObihia, while giving out his daughter, Irene in marriage at their Ibusa residence, prayed God to continue to lead them as they begin their journey as husband and wife.
