Yinka Ayenuwa In High Spirit To Break Olympics Records In Weightlifting Events

YINKA Ayenuwa, a Nigeria male weightlifting professional recorded his first glory in the sport in the 2007 All African Games tagged “Algeria 2007” at Algiers where he won his first gold medal and as well as a Silver medal in an international sports meet.

He further participated in the 2007 World Weightlifting Championships in Thailand where he was ranked the 16th best person in the weightlifting sport in the world.

Yinka also took part in the 2008 African Weightlifting Championship in South Africa where he also won a silver medal at the championship but got a bronze medal in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship held in Malaysia in 2013. He however did better in the 2014 Commonwealth Games held in Scotland in 2014 where he went home with a Silver medal.

Yinka Ayenuwa continued his exploits in weightlifting games with three Silver medals won at the 2015 All African Games held in Congo and another gold medal in 2016 Arnold Sports Festival in United States of America.

He also performed creditably in another Weightlifting Championship in United States where he acquired three gold medals in the 2017 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Weightlifting Championships.

He repeated same feat in the 2018 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Weightlifting Championships (US) with another three Gold medals and in 2019 Southern California weightlifting championships, by winning another three Gold medals.

He took part in Nigeria’s highest athletics meets, The National Sports Festival where he represented Delta State at the 2018 National Sports Festival Abuja and also won two gold medals and a Silver medal.

With all these efforts, he is preparing for the upcoming All Africa Games and also for the upcoming Olympics Games with modern weightlifting training facilities in the US.
