“We are aware that Effurun Modern Technical College was the last to be awarded among the nine colleges, but like the biblical saying: The last shall become the first”, Abe 1 stated.

Some students of the technical college, including Miss Joy Lolo-West, spoke in the same vein, as they lauded the governor and assured that they will make good use of the school for their future benefits.

The Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, in his key note address, during the inauguration of the technical college, stated, among others that he was grateful to the Uvwie monarch for the provision of land for the building of the college.

He also lauded the Uvwie people for providing an enabling environment for the building of the technical college. Governor Okowa, however, stressed the need for the expansion of the college. To this end, he assured that he will hand over the school expansion need to the next governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, in his handing over note.
