TO improve the internally generated revenue in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State, the Chairman, Hon Kelvin Okwechime, has been urged by stakeholders across the local government area to introduce tricycle operations. While addressing stakeholders in an interactive session in Issele-Uku, John Onwubuya said that the introduction of tricycle operations within the local government would ease the troubles faced by the people moving around their legitimate businesses in the area. Onwubuya lamented that since the inception of hike in fuel prize, motorcycle riders resorted to extort fares from the people, stressing that accessing the local government headquarters from the neighbouring communities was very alarming. He said that tricycle would be better used and it would increase the revenue of the local government as well as help farmers to transport their farm produce to the famous Afor market in Issele-Uku, adding that the tricycle would reduce the incessant increase of telephone snatchers by motor bikers in the area. Onwubuya disclosed that the population of people in the metropolis was currently increasing and motorcycle operators were not enough to conquer transportation challenges of the people, adding that it would also create jobs for the local government youths, whose life depended on farming. He said that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had been able to connect the entire 18 communities within the local government area with good roads, pleading that Kelvin Okwechime should utilize the road network by introducing tricycle transportation business with parks in Onicha-Ugbo, Issele-Uku, Onicha-Olona, Ezi, Orgodo and Obamkpa. Onwubuya admonished the people to invest in tricycle transportation so that the local government could be accessed within a short period of time and would ensure unity among the three clans dominating Aniocha North with residents, who are working in the area.
