Ghastly Motor Accident Claims One

A ghastly motor accident has claimed the life of tricycle (Keke) rider in Ogwashi-Uku metropolis.

The accident occurred at the popular DPPS Junction, along Isah- Ogwashi-Uku road axis.

Findings by our correspondent revealed that the Camry Spider model of the car that crashed into the Keke rider at the wee hours of the night was occupied by a youth and a girl.

Unconfirmed information alleged that the driver of the motor vehicle might be a ‘yahoo boy’.

Eyewitness account hinted that the driver of the motor vehicle was on a high speed as he was heading to the direction of Ogwashi-Uku from the Ubulu-Uku axis, while the Keke rider was heading the opposite direction.

A source, who craved anonymity, disclosed that there was no way the occupant of the Keke could have survived the impact of the bashing by the car.

Our correspondent reports that the Camry car itself, after crashing into the Keke, also crashed into two container make shift shops that where mounted few meters away from the major highway.

“It was indeed a terrible accident. What was chasing the young man on the steering was what one does not know that could cause him to be on the high speed he was.

“And this is something that happened late in the night when the road was virtually free. We learnt that the driver of the car veered off completely and headed for the opposite side of the road.

“The unsuspecting Keke rider himself was probably going home when the vehicle unexpectedly crashed into him, after losing control. There was no way the Keke man could have survived the impact of the bashing from the car.

“And as it will happen, the young man and the girl he was carrying did not sustain any injury. Immediately they came down from their vehicle, the first thing the driver did was to start searching for his cellphone, while the victim of his careless driving was dying from the accident”, revealed our source.

A visit by our correspondent to the accident scene saw both the crashed Camry vehicle and ‘Keke’ still by the road.
